Welcome To The Pituitary Foundation
There are approximately 70,000 people in the UK with a pituitary condition. They are considered rare and misdiagnosis is a very common problem. Some reports suggest that many more people could have undiagnosed pituitary issues. We are a national support and information organisation for pituitary patients, their carers and their friends and family. In the UK we are the leading charity for providing support to people affected by disorders of the pituitary gland. Some of the disorders we deal with regularly are things like Acromegaly, Cushing’s, Prolactinoma, Diabetes Insipidus and Hypopituitarism. We have around 2,300 subscribed members of our organisation. We operate throughout the United Kingdom and the Republic Of Ireland.
In Cardiff our meetings are held every two months starting in February. We don’t have any meetings in July or August. The time to be at the meetings is always 7pm until 10pm. Try to get there on time so you don’t miss anything but it doesn’t matter if you show up at anytime. The location to be is usually the University Hospital Of Wales, Sports & Leisure Centre – President’s Room, Heath Park. We have been meeting for around 13 years now. We offer a great support system and everyone here is very friendly and bubbly. If you are new you will receive a warm welcome no matter what.
If you have any questions you would like to ask us then please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Our services are here to help you. We provide support for all sorts of queries and questions. If you want to know about getting a diagnosis, living with a condition or anything to do with treatment then we have got you covered. Our patient support and information helpline number is just below. There is also an email address there for help and support. If you have any general enquiries then use the numbers at the top and bottom of the page. We’re always happy to help.
